Our structured programmes help your loved ones preserve mental abilities, aid memory recall and encourage them to stay active.
Dementia day care is a service that is based at the day centres for seniors. It provides specialised care for individuals with cognitive or memory-related conditions, such as Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. We provide a supportive and secure environment for those living with dementia, allowing them to enjoy meaningful activities, socialise with peers, and receive assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs).
Our goal is to foster understanding and communication, and manage behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia, such as anxiety and mood changes. Ultimately, we encourage and equip our dementia clients to live purposeful and fulfilling lives.
Here are some of the services we offer with Dementia Care:
Reminiscence therapy
Music therapy such as playing musical instruments
Physical activities to encourage movement and train coordination
Mind-stimulating games such as BINGO, memory games, “Spot The Difference”
Karaoke sessions
Art and colouring therapy
Therapy Through Occupational Roles
Designed for persons with mild dementia, NTUC Health's THOR® (Therapy Through Occupational Roles) programme aims to empower its clients through work-like activities within the centre, such as watering plants, co-leading group activities, simple cleaning of surfaces, and more. By contributing to these everyday tasks, participants have a sense of purpose and dignity, while maintaining their cognitive and physical functions.
Personalised and Enriching Activities to Care for Enhanced dementia
Our PEACE (Personalised and Enriching Activities to Care for Enhanced dementia) programme is designed for persons with moderate to severe dementia, where participants can look forward to being in touch with their various senses through different activities. These enriching activities help provide a calming effect and a sense of safety, over time enabling them to better engage in other purposeful roles, routines and activities in their daily lives.
As your loved one participates in these activities, their enhanced well-being, communication skills and comfort will make a difference in your life as a caregiver too. Rest assured that your loved one will be in good hands throughout the day.

I cannot express my appreciation enough to everyone in the team for helping my mum cope with her dementia all these years with respect and love, as well as making her happy and smiling always!
Ms Saratha, daughter of Mdm Pillay Kamachi, Dementia Day Care client
Thank you all for your care & thoughtful acts in my mum’s daily life. While she was coping with dementia, the team at Dakota gave her many meaningful moments! Although these moments might be quickly forgotten, they definitely made her happier!
Mr Arthur Fong, son of Mdm Wong Kim Kok, Dementia Day Care client
Mr Chua is a very caring and responsible healthcare staff. His patience & proactiveness are well-demonstrated in my many interactions with him. Whenever I called him to ask about my sister, who has dementia, he was willing to patiently explain her condition to me with much patience. He also suggested the family to engage in the shuttle bus transportation service for my sister in view of her deteriorating condition, which was very helpful.
Ms Tham Leng Oi, sister of Dementia Day Care client
My grandma has been going to this centre for almost 2 years. As she has dementia, going to the centre keeps her mind occupied and allows her to practice her motor skills. We noticed that she has become happier under the care of the attentive and friendly staff. Recommended!
Ms Glenyse Lim, granddaughter of Dementia Day Care client
