Straighten teeth discreetly with “invisible” aligners

Invisalign

Clear aligners are an aesthetic alternative to conventional braces. They are almost invisible and allow you to smile with confidence while straightening your teeth.

Aligners are made of a soft, flexible material that gradually move teeth over a series of aligners.

They have minimal impact on lifestyle as they’re comfortable (without wires) and easy to wear. They can also be easily removed for brushing/flossing and before meals, facilitating good oral hygiene.

If you're looking for a discreet and effective way to straighten your teeth and correct your bite, Invisalign clear aligners can be a feasible solution.

  • Invisalign aligners can be suitable for kids, teenagers, working adults and the elderly - as long as your teeth are healthy. Consult our orthodontist to determine if Invisalign is a suitable alternative to dental braces, for straightening your teeth.

Upon assessment that you are suitable for Invisalign treatment, a digital scan or impressions (“mould”) of your teeth will be taken.

Our orthodontist will develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs and sequence the movement of teeth accordingly. Using this plan as a blueprint, a series of aligners will be custom-made to fit your teeth. The aligners exert a gentle pressure on your teeth and gradually move them into the correct positions.

Each aligner set is to be worn for 7-14 days, before switching to the next set. The duration will vary according to the case complexity and our orthodontist will recommend the ideal interval of change for your case.

Regular reviews with your orthodontist are needed to monitor treatment progress and make necessary adjustments to your aligner regimen. This will improve treatment efficiency and ensure a good outcome. Without regular monitoring, there is a risk of undesired consequences such as receding gums (gum shrinkage), or teeth not moving as planned.

  • The duration required to complete your Invisalign treatment depends on the severity of your bite/malalignment issues and desired treatment goals. It can be as short as a few months, or can span over a few years.

There may be slight discomfort in the first few days of aligner wear, as well as with each change of aligner set, as your teeth are being moved into the desired positions. Compliance with adequate aligner wear is crucial to the success of treatment. The aligners should be worn most of the day and during your sleep, approximately 20 hours a day. Aligners must be cleaned daily to avoid plaque build-up. Additionally, they have to be removed before consuming any food and beverages, with the exception of room-temperature or iced water. Do take care not to lose or distort your aligners.
